Privacy note

A small form.
A clear promise.

Contributions are collected to improve the historical record, not to build a marketing list.

What is collected

The contribution form stores your name, email, relationship to the story, message, optional supporting link and whether you permit quotation or publication. It also stores a one-way hash of the submitting network address for abuse prevention and the browser user-agent string for security troubleshooting.

How it is used

Your submission enters a private research queue. The email address is used only to verify the contribution or ask a follow-up question. Contributions are not automatically published, sold or shared for advertising.

Publication and attribution

Checking permission to publish means the substance may be considered for the project. It does not make the form public. The project will contact you before attributing a contribution by name. Unchecked permission means the submission is treated as a research lead unless a later agreement says otherwise.

Retention and requests

Records are retained while they remain useful to the project’s historical research and verification. To request correction or deletion, submit a new message with “privacy request” at the beginning and identify the email address used for the original contribution.

Effective July 30, 2026.
